2017 Crossfit Games Update – Day 2 Recap
Day 2 of the 2017 Crossfit Games did not disappoint. Sara Sigmundsdottir climbed to the top of the leaderboard but it’s still a tight race amongst the top five women. On the men’s side, Matt Fraser is still in first with a 68 point lead on Ricky Garard who currently sits in second. Garret Fisher thrilled the crowd in the snatch event hitting a 305 lifetime PR. I certainly did not pick Garret to win that event. Wasatch Crossfit, my pick to win, currently sits in first followed by Crossfit Mayhem. Nothing is set in stone yet as tomorrow’s events should see another shake up of the leaderboard.
In related news, Carleen Mathews has withdrawn from competition with a neck/back injury. Crossfit Games rookie Chelsey Hughes has also withdrawn due to injury. We wish both these ladies a speedy recovery.
